I thought it was pretty impressive from our bench loose head, too.

Was it his debut?
And to do the write up in today’s Times as well. That’s good going Wink

Steff Thomas the LH sub who came on ( the one your thinking of there may not make it as a front rower 😃) is another Emlyn product.

Played with my oldest in the front row in the Championship for Emlyn as a youngster. Suffered a couple of nasty injuries, so it’s good to see him back up and running.

He’s the cousin of Gareth Thomas ( ex Scarlets, now Ospreys LH) and comes from a big rugby family out West. He had another cousin, Owain Powell, in the Scarlets Academy for a while, a lovely hard nosed flanker in the Nick Cudd mould.

There’s more in the pipeline!
Good to hear.

Steff certainly didn't look out of place when he came on so lets hope he can get a run of games and avoid injury.

I agree Javan's scrummaging has improved massively but for the love of God please can someone take him behind the sheds and do some basic handling drills!!! everytime I see him as first receiever my first thought is knock on

I think the only time he did knock it on at fist receiver this week the ball wasn’t meant for him and he was just a decoy and Blacker passed it to him not behind him.

He knocked on three times - I think it's fair to say that two were in part from 'unexpected' balls - one was at a lineout - but I'd expect bette handling, even so. But I like Javan a lot - his scrummaging is very solid - and I'd think this was mainly bad luck, but a bit of handling practice wouldn't go amiss even so!
