I am going to reserve any comments on the Dragons & budgets until I see who is leaving. What Ryan is saying does make sense if a raft of players leave. It is pretty clear to all of us that they have many in their squad who are not good enough for the URC. The players he has brought in will definitely improve the overall squad depth which surely is the object of the exercise.

As for our squad with the average player contract being 2 years our squad reduction is going to roll on until the end of next season. If welsh professional rugby is still around in season 2023/24 then we will get to see Dwayne's favoured squad.

Yes. Similar happened with Pivac. It’s all well and good a player being a great servant to the club but that alone doesn’t win games.

Fully agree, great servants doesn’t win you titles. There’s too much sentiment on here towards players in the squad just because they have been good servants or the backbone of the club when it comes to being a squad member. I wonder if the crusaders think like that in super rugby as a club? I think not.

Have the regional budgets been announced for next season, as far as I understand there won’t be much on recruitment by us this season but the the end next season we have “significant targets”

That would make a lot of sense as the wider squad will be cut again. Hopefully that will free up some cash for those significant targets.

Spot on, always best to wait.
20 leaving or already left the Dragons. That definitely qualifies as a raft.
