Changed the way we listen to music and led the way into making smartphones the mainstream. He changed the world in some aspects.
Any people commenting on android being better and iTunes is rubbish etc need to grow up. |

Didn't he basically co-pioneer the idea of the home pc? You only look at his Apple comeback when since then they've grown to become bigger than microsoft. We knew the end must be near when he stepped down from being the CEO a month back but still too young. Whatever you think of his technological ideas he was very pioneering in how to market and sell his products to the masses.

Such a refreshing character too. Doing the product launches on the stage in his jeans and trainers - really seemed to be relaxed as a person and really had a connection to people and what they wanted. Such a shame.

I'm no fan of apple products at all, but Steve Jobs was a pioneer. And he was a likebale CEO. One that gave you confidence. A refreshing change from most of todays arrogant, egotistical magalomaniacs. Sad news.

It's quite a sensitive subject. Should he have? What's the recommended philanthropic percentage per billion? There are rumours that he gave to charity anonymously, as he thought that people putting their name on gifts was just a smokescreen to make the public adore them. |

If you give a large sum of money to charity then you deserve to be "adored" in my eyes. On the other hand, I find it quite hard to feel sorry for someone who has died that could have really helped the suffering of others but chose not to.

It's all relative though isn't it. Someone worth billions might give away £100k and we'd be dumbfounded. But that percentage of disposable income relative to me or you might be about £10. So should I be adored by the public if I give £10 to charity? Edited by KID A - 06 October 2011 at 1:21pm |

It's different circumstances though, we all need money to live day to day, once it gets to the stage where you know you are set for life and have an insane amount of additional money then yes you should be donating a large chuck of it. Unless your Lofty, and plan to use the money to buy the Scarlets I wouldn't think anything less of that. |

Bottom line he thought way outside the box and imagined ideas and gizmo's no one else could dream.
Exceptional guy, with a superb talented mind. Dont buy Apple stuff but he took a company that was 90 days away from being bankrupt to the second most important company on the Planet. Outstanding really and he really was as Rap posted a visionary. RIP a true giant of the electronic world. |

I would sort everyone out and that's why i wont win the damn thing. Im only interested in being happy. Money wont make me happy, but it would if i could buy the Scarlets. I envy the ones who steer the ship i want. Coming back to Steve Jobs, as the main man at Apple just his whole approach in his presentation's give a clear indication, that he was a guy who believed in empowerment and creating something unique. He was probably an inspiring boss and wouldnt it be brilliant if there were more like him as CEO. I have yet to meet a senior Manager who inspires me. I have worked for the most selfish, self centered, idiots who care only for their attainment and status. |
