astonishing result....The afgan fielding was the difference....several miracle catches The afghans may even qualify if they beat bangladesh by enough I think its absolutely marvellous to see the emergence of the afghans , especially when you consider what that war torn country has been through for 30 odd years This is the main positive from t20 it makes money and allows so many emerging nations to grow their game and compete on a world stage ![]() oooh gotta go the saes v the yanks on now , great occasion, saes got to win comfortably to try and get out of the group of death |

If India beat Australia and Afghanistan best Bangladesh then it the Afghans in to the semis and the Aussies go home.
Some irony there as Australia suggested ( semi seriously) that the should 'let' Scotland secure a place in the Super 8's at the expense of England only last week. England absolutely tonked the USA. Hatrick for Jordan, 83 off 38 by Buttler in the chase They make the SF's. |

Yea vintage butler and terrific bowling from rashid and Jordan...rashids variation was immense unplayable at times and hat trick for Jordan at his former home ground...out if a heck if a tough group to the semis...so anything is possible....windies v s Africa on now...windies got to win to have a chance
Usa dream over for now but great run....apparently there's over 400 cricket leagues in.usa now and over 200,000 players....if they start to take it very seriously then look out...major league cricket restarts next week....increased to 25 matches and women's mlc to follow Got me thinking too...if baseball has baseball nets in every park...then why no cricket nets in British parks for our national summer sport?

Windies lost in a nail biter to the boks so they're out...boks through with England....they're mentality monsters...endless world cup wins by a whisker in rugby and cricket
Meanwhile india just posted a huge 205 against aussie...aussie got to get it or they're on a plane down under Rohits sensational 92 off 41 was 1 of the best t20 knocks ever

The format is a but pish when any one of 3 teams could have qualified for the semi final by losing 2 games out of 3.

I quite enjoyed the format tbh despite the rather weird fact you could qualify with 1 win in certain circumstances
I did think that if world cups are limited to fewer host cities then grounds and supporters villages would be more crowded ..But theres also the positive from spreading it to so many host venues too....Plus some kick off times were a bit weird to suit the indian tv market As for the afghans , this was absolutely epic...It ebbed and flowed it looked for all the world as it bangladesh would ruin their dreams then several rain showers threatened it too....The pictch was turning and some variable bounce, the wind was howling and it al ended up the wind and rain at about 1am even then it was a 3rd umpire lbw...cure eruption the wartorn streets of afghanistan were rammed with celebrations across the country ...nice to give them something to finally celebrate BUT lest we forget the taliban have banned womens cricket....It was the tail end of last year ....I remember reading about it, heart wrenching stuff....the members of the team had to hide their bats and destroy anything to do with the great game or the taliban may kill them There needs to be a massive protest over this , theyre 1 of the elite test playing nations and they have responsibilities to uphold....Im not sure if sanctions are the way but maybe incentives ? perhaps somehow this will be a catalyst
