I am not a fan of the 100.
Fully appreciate  it brings in new younger supporters,  and that's good, and also it's boosts the coffers.
The technical  aspect of the game, regarding  fielding,  and quite astonishing creative batting is also a plus.
In this context  I would like  to draw attention to a remarkable  innings  today by Tammy Beaumont,  which was a sheer joy to watch.
After some incredible  performances  in the ashes , we have had some wonderful cricket this summer, but Tammy's innings,  just added to that. Wonderful  shot selection,  power,  timing , the lot. It was the first century  in the hundred, by a woman.
This is the computer age, so we need as many young people out playing sport, so It's great to see Tammy hopefully inspiring  girls as well as boys to pick up a bat.
Great stuff !

Fair comment. A big shout out, too, to Shabnim Ismail who got a hat-trick the other week to win a game that looked lost with the last ball of the match:

Thanks for that Aber. I stick to my assessment of the 100 being a showy, shallow competition. The glitz appeals to some, but we live in different  times.
Whatever my opinion,  its doesn't stop me  appreciating  talent and skill. I am full of  admiration for what people achieve,  whatever  their gender.

Obviously purists will question it, I mean why wasnt the 20/20 enough? But in fairness the 100 has been done so well so slick and it allows 2 matches too .......Plus the test stars were available as the ashes ended pretty early and the weather has held off a wee bit........The games themselves have been mosty incredible too.......Big crowds in every game Ive watched too....Heck this is even stateside too now in the newly formed major league cricketLOL we dont like cricket we loves it
