Just announced on BBC Wales news that Foxy and North will be available for Ireland.

If Gats wants Hook at 10 and Foxy at 13 - does that mean we could get Stevo back for Leinster?Smile

If Stevo gets injured then that'll mean Hook starts at 10, I feel Priestland is on the bench as a Fullback only and that Gatland has no intention of him playing 10.

Stevo being injured would have big concequences and I cannot see Gatland taking the risk.

Can't see Stevo being released for this, and probably not Foxy either (unless Gatland thinks he needs a game before Ireland), nor Turnbull (as he's the obvious flanker-in-waiting), nor Stoddart (preferred to Halfpenny in Rome, and still likely to be in Wales' XXII) - Ireland game is crucial, so any injuries to first XXII before the game would be critical.

(Concensus now seems to be to play Hook at 10 with Stevo on the bench ready to step in and seal or save the game - back line & reserves now look decent, but it would only need one injury to the first choice crew to force a strategic rethink as Gatland hasn't got a big squad full of like-for-like replacements.)

Having Priestland, Rob McC and Nurse Tavis back from the Wales squad - plus a fit-agin George North - might have to do. Not bad though, and any more released would be a bonus; then it's just a case of who IRFU release back to Leinster.

WoL reported that all players not in the starting XV in Rome will be released for this weekend's games, so that would mean Turnbull, McCusker, Knoyle & Priestland would be available, together with George North and Jon Davies.

So, potentially a back line of:
Newton
North
King
JD
Lamont (assuming also released, but only 5 days..? otherwise Maule?)
Priestland
Knoyle

And break-aways of McCusker, Turnbull and Morgan. If the tight 5 can win and keep a fair share of the ball, the rest can do a job, even at the RDS (with 14,000 tickets already sold...).

Leinster will not have Cian Healy, Heaslip, O'Brien, Ross, D'Arcy, Fitzgerald, BO'D or Reddan, but could have Nathan Hines, Leo Cullen & Fergus McFadden available - no word on Sexton yet.

lyons is meant to be fit so he'd be on my bench, even starting if fit enough to start.

Wasn't that long ago when we put 50 points on the in RDS. We have to believe we can pinch a result there.

As would I.
