Not so my learned friend ! Now RR, your a former military man, a place were discipline is essential. You have done and seen things , that I have never dreamed of, and our security has depended on it ! Sadly that discipline is lost on a considerable number of the people of Llanelli. There has been a 20 mph sign QUITE CLEAR, in my street. Despite this , morons still drive like lunatics. We have had some collisions ,in the last year alone. I understand ,that its frustrating, when you need to get from A to B quickly, and may have adverse e effect on delivery...HOWEVER, end of the day, its applied in certain areas for a reason. We are now living jn the "Boris Johnson, do what you want culture". People 's sense of responsibility is diminishing, together with social , and civic pride. Drop litter, swear, drive as fast as you want, when you want, and bugger anyone else. Stiffer bans for the above offenders , plus much lengthier bans for drink drivers, is of course only part of the answer. RR and myself can debate 20mph, its going to be ignored by many, as we see now, even in built up residential areas

Sorry Pimp but the ones who speed will always speed whatever the limit the ones who abide will now be looking down at their speedometers to make sure they are not going over the limit(really safe), Coming home from Glangwili Monday night and the speed van was at Nantycaws I have heard that they are now working evening shifts,I'm all for road safety but these vans are in secluded areas in the hope of catching another and on the subject of 20 mph try driving an ambulance at that speed with a stretcher patient and 3 chairs of people who have spent their day hooked up to dialysis machines for 4 hours and just want to get home to their family.

I had to do a speed awareness course because I was doing 31 in a 30...fact I remember arguing with the course instructor who insisted I broke the law even if its 1 or 2 mph....wound me up chronic.... what I will say is 20mph will stop the arseholes who speed around town with complete disregard for anything ....im sticking to 20 mph and I really don't mind and my bike does 200mph.....so just behave.in areas that have them. |

Today in Tory corruption World.
Chris Pincher lost his groping appeal and has resigned that 3 by elections where the voters can.give the eff off pill to the Tories. Sunak lied again in Parliament about Starmer never raising the school issue, he really needs to do some fact checks. Penny Mordaunt was visibly disgusted and muttering expletives about Sunaks lies. The Prisoner who escaped under a Transit van was because of the staff shortages at all prisons in the UK as a direct result of underfunding anything in this Country. The effing great job Gillian Keegans husband works for Centerprize as a director which was awarded 24 million in MOD contracts between 2019 and 2020 in taxpayers money. Scottish water has never been privatised it invests 33% of all its profits has no debt and doesn't flow poo into rivers or seas. |

Some balance to any debate is useful I think - In 2021, it was revealed that untreated sewage was discharged by Scottish Water into Scotland's rivers and lochs more than 12,000 times in a single year, through combined sewage outflows. It emerged that the regulator, SEPA, estimated that there were 645 'unsatisfactory' outflows, and that Scottish Government officials viewed Scotland as being 'way behind' England in dealing with the problem.[9] The devil, as always, tends to be in the detail.

And on discharge into the sea the position was
“The figures show that storm overflow events were recorded for 63,592 hours in 2021 in Scotland – or the equivalent of around seven years. In England, that figure was more than 2.7 million hours, a little over 308 years” |

Well way behind England in dealing with the issue - a quote from the Scottish government - suggests that all is not well with the non privatised Scottish Water however you choose to present the figures. The moral of the story I guess is that any comparison between privatised & non privatised Utilities is complicated & very much depends on the regulatory bodies who oversee their performance.

MP Harriet Baldwin, claimed £2,130 for expenses to pay for her utility bills, between 2019 to 2021....
In 2013 she tried to claim back £50 donation to a Hospice. This Government spent 12.5 Billion on PPE. And according to @Goodlawproject over 10 billion has been written off. No checks and balances. Sunuk was blamed for losing 11 billion as Chancellor when he failed to insure Govt debt against rising interest rates. 11 billion. While at the DWP Therese Coffey denied benefits to disabled people who were actually entitled to them , over a thousand recorded suicides and at least one starved to death. She covered up the reports. Michelle Mone owes the equivalent of 50, 000 years on benefits, for the PPE scandal and is still not being investigated. Why hasn't Boris Johnson given over his what's app messages on the phone he can't remember his password. It's farcical. He is in contempt and still walks free. The Tories are trying to get rid of the European Court of Human rights in the UK....err why? Michael Gove, Nicky Morgan , Justin Greening , Damien Hinds, Gavin Williamson, Nadhim Zahawi, Michelle Donelan , James Cleverly, Kit Malthouse, Gillian Keegan have been Secretary of State for Education since 2010 they all knew state schools were falling down. |

I am not going to stop about this appalling Government.
The UK economy is struggling its schools and buildings collapsing, its Health Service is overwhelmed... Tax rates are the highest for 70 years....how the hell is someone on 500 000 a year paying 21% and someone on 50,000 40% ....unreal. BMW wanted 600 million to stay in the UK....Oxford Cowley had it.... Wilkos with 12,000 workers....no hand out ...piss off. And the worst bit good ole traitor Sunak who was snubbed by his home Country and Modi ignored him this midget of a man has decided to write off.....yep write off 15 Billion cannot be investigated at all, banned anyone in finding out the truth of why Michelle Mone and the other thieves were given state handouts for stuff that didn't exist. in 2022 his words were " to do everything possible to recover money from fraudsters" they and he are unreal. This Government has covertly signed a contract targeting 20% cuts to new education plans for children with special educational needs and disabilities to bring costs down. My conscious is clear I didn't vote for this scum. |

Another great post from Lofty. It will be interesting next year, if, as reported, that pensions take a hit. Could leave those without an occupational pensionable a considerable disadvantage, and that would be worrying ! Traditionally, older voters, have percentage wise ,voted Tory, but this plan will not go down well !
