In the Bahamas experiencing record low temperatures and high winds so unfortunately no fishing and it doesn’t feel right sitting on a sun lounger in a hoody and long trousers.
Tried rum  tasting and whilst visiting the John Wattling Distillery at Graycliff chanced upon a wine tasting offer as well.
Bahamas barrels is a newish initiative and not something I expected to see.
The climate isn’t right for grape production so they have started importing quality grapes from Argentina, Italy and France .
Did the tour and tasting and tried 3 reds 2 whites and  a rose. There was an ok Cabernet and Merlot , the rose and a blended white were not great but the Malbec and an unoaked Chardonnay were very good - a pleasant way to spend a chilly Tuesday afternoon.

Had a Sud Tyrol white last night - most pleasant. I do like Austrian white. The reds are less well known to me although I’ve enjoyed what I’ve tried.

Red tonight and Schalk Burger plus Dad’s vineyard.

Patriot is the label.

Not to my taste. May have spares to donate on my next trip west, second opinoins notwithstanding.

Bordeaux President, and well known businessman, Laurent Marti has bought a vineyard in the Pessac Leognan, near Bordeaux and a fine appellation.

Called Picque Caillou, one to look out for on future travels, or specialist wine shop visits.

Rory McIlroy’s Masters menu choice has some excellent wines on it.

I might respect his choice of rugby club, however, I’m fully with him on his wine choices. After the champagne, a Puligny Montrachet white, a 1990 Lafite Rothschild from Pauillac and a Chateau Yquem 1989 for dessert.

I thought the same Steve - excellent choices. An elk starter sounded very interesting as well as the fact that the chefs from Augusta actually visited his favourite New York restaurant in a bid to perfect a starter course.
