A large part of our lengthy injuries this season have been due to concussions, I fail to see how a head of performance can reduce this...

Some maybe instead of getting a head of performance, we get a performance of head?

would be interesting to see how many other teams have contact sessions, i did see you question mark to simon and a very valid one.
compare the sport to NFL which has had a lot of concussions/head injuries they have cut down their number of live sessions dramatically.

Good point but the NFL itself imposed that so all teams are forced to abide by the same rules. If coaches believe there is a competitive advantage to more contact sessions they will do it.

Does anyone know if there was a time frame to the potential signings mentioned at the meeting last week? Could do with some good news this week.

As a side note, the Pro14 social media is announcing something at 09:30.

Steve I think he was quite careful not to raise expectations over the 2 new signings. A world class "Head of performance" was mentioned. When the question about player signings came up he said something like "I'd love to be talking about big name signings but.."
We're still still here!

Must be so hard to recruit quality non WQ signings as Scarlets is not a big club in modern professional rugby and also can’t pay the big wages other English clubs can . We have had some great signings like Barclay Beirne Parkes and Sione but need a lock and centre/ wing big time

He was good at his wording, maybe it was just my wishful thinking Wink Think. They are still working on recruitment if they can get players in.

i thought he said 2 to 3 weeks they will need to decide on the backroom staff. i didnt think that was the time frame given to announce the "World Class" Head of Performance.

Lock is going to be tough position to fill with quality as, probably in our budget, there isnt much quality out there in that position. unless we can afford to spend big on big units. I think the biggest signing we will make this summer will be the 13/14 player. I think the lock/s may come from ITM/Currie or a WQ based Premiership player. We were linked with George Knott around Christmas time from London Irish. Not sure if he's still on anyones radar.

I also thought Simon mentioned some signings might not be in place until the beginning of next season. Not sure if that was referring to the coaching team or players though.

Ah right I thought Simon Thomas had a piece, a list saying he was on all Welsh regions radar. Was a while ago, obviously mistaken.
