Weren’t both originally in the ospreys academy?

Both were poached from under the Ospreys nose by Leicester who were able to offered scholarships with Leicester academy and a local college, something that the regions and the WRU should be doing themselves.

 We do now with Llandovery College.Also Swansea Uni where Carwyn  is studying under such an arrangement. We don’t have the number of colleges or money available as  over the border ( like Harpury/ Clifton College ) and of course some of the young players don’t rise to the top. Some young people also want the life opportunity to study and play in other environments and develop not just stay at home with mum and dad. Having said that we could do more in Wales I think

I hope that he has used the last couple of years spare time off for injuries to plan his post rugby career. He would be foolish not to do so
