Liam Davies - Penalty Try ???

But surely if you 5/7m from the try line and take a quick tap penalty it's unfair on the defence as they need time to get back on the try-line. If not then Liam Davies could have just walked over the line to score except he got tackled. "

IMO a yellow card should have been shown to the Ulsterman (Harrison I think) but no penalty try,  as there were defending players "onside" who could in the interpretation of the referee have effected a tackle on Liam, if the offence hadn't been committed.

Had there been no other defending player (onside) in the vicinity, I think the ref would have considered it again a definate Yellow, but still would have thought hard about a penalty try , unless prior warnings had been given regarding "PROFESSIONAL FOUL PLAY". Rule of thumb (but not set in law) tends to be .... two warnings to the defending side the second being (Nigel O style) "No more or you know what I'm thinking" & then it's under the posts for the third infringement!!

I noticed that the referee was loathed to talk to either captain about killing the ball which was attempted at every breakdown, ...Me .... I'd have given a yellow card or two after about 15 mins, for repeated infringements. JH frequently stepped into the gap at lineouts (as he always does), the Scarlets winning most lineout ball, influenced (or clouded) the refs decision on this. I would have liked to have thought thad had Ulster disrupted our lineout (more than they did their own) that yellows would have been produced.
