Now that the WRU are no longer contributing to player salaries, surely we will be back to IRB rules, which I believe state that players must be released back to their clubs 60 hours after the last game that they play in?
The contract we have with WRU provides for extensive management of Welsh squad players. Much as I am no fan of the WRU, I do expect them to provide £5m/yr!

We're still still here, but I wish we were in an Anglo-Welsh

As usual I agree with you 😇 (By the way, have I passed the Follower of The Oracle indoctrination programme yet? It’s hard work being a groveller 🙏😜)

I would be surprised if Wales or Tonga are involved in the latter stages of the World Cup. Also as far as I am aware there are no Autumn Internationals next season. And as the WRU are no longer contributing towards the salaries of Welsh Squad players, I struggle to see how they can enforce a “mandatory” rest period.
So other than injuries and player welfare for any Scarlets players who have had a particularly high work load in the World Cup, shouldn't all Scarlets squad players be available for the start of the URC?

Yep.
Wales players would be missing until the December games/Xmas derbies sort of time.

Having both him and Wyn available during the World Cup is a real bonus. It’s now a huge season for Samson to reestablish himself in the team

I didnt think the Scarlets had any games during the World Cup?
Post World Cup mandatory rest periods and then the Autumn Internationals perhaps

URC is due to start on the same weekend as the RWC semi finals.

I’d imagine another reason is he’s probably not digging too much into their budget.

However here is the rub - can they get to those breakdowns quick enough & often enough to make it count.

Both Wyn & Samson will hopefully have good pre-seasons learning new skills. They both have loads left in the tank & won't go away easily.
Yet he still picks Francis and Beard
