Ok Thought Id have some fun reminding myself and fellow scarlet feverians we have produced a plethora of fantastic players in the last few decadesBig smile ..Before this current barren spell

so heres my 1st go at the best welsh 15 of the 2000s and boy was it hard..Ive probably forgotten a load of stars and Im sure youll correct me where Ive gone wrong lol Ive not included stars like quinnell or howley as they finished with wales 2002 as did the great neil jenkins

15 Byrne (Liam/Hapenny)
14 North (Gareth Thomas/Liam)
13 Foxy (Dafydd James/shanklin/Mark Taylor)
12 Henson (dr bob/scott w/hadleigh parks)
11 Shane Wiliams (LRZ,Mark Jones, rhys williams)
10 Biggar (Jones/Hook)
9. phillips (Peel/Cawdor)
8 Faletau (Ryan Jones/Owen)
7 Warburton (Tipuric , m williams)
6 Dan Lydiate (Charvis/ryan/wainwright)
5 AWJ (I Gough, C Wyatt )
4 L Charteris (Ian Evans)
3 Gethin (duncan jones, paul james)
2 Ken (Hibbard)
1 Adam Jones (Frances)

Big smile

I dont think I fully appreciated how fantastic some of these players were at the time and how frankly irreplacable maybe have proven to be like faletau, AWJ, foxy shane or adam jones in particular

Halfpenny at 15 and Roberts at 12 for me. A stellar collection of players.

Roberts over Henson for me - Henson was good but no where near Roberts level. Halfpenny at full back too, apart from that pretty much spot on.

Anyone done the same for the Scarlets? i.e. Best Scarlets 23 since 2000?

Henson could have been a better player for Wales had he been looked after but for me Roberts was a better player for Wales.

I’ll be pedantic and call out North at 13, don’t think he ever wore 13 for us ;)
Scott Williams at 12, closely followed by Parkes. King at 13.

Got to be a spot there for John Barclay. I think people forget how immense he was for us.

Blimey, no Foxy??? He and King were an outstanding pair. I’d go for Foxy & Scott though. Scott could tackle, Regan was a revolving door unfortunately.

I would have Samson at 3 and a close call between Wyn and Rob Evans at 1. Jac Mogan wasnt first choice when he was at PYS, so Cubby or McLeod at 7.
JD2 at 13 and North scraping in ahead of Boycie at 11
