I get it head on and you jump over him, fair enough as there is a chance of kicking someone in the face, but that is far from what happened in the instance, mor what Nigel mentioned

Im baffled by that decision tbh...Didnt he just skip out of an ankle tap tackle? I really cant recall such a try being cancelled for such a maneouvre Confused I wont pretend to have scrutinised the rules on leaping but it just seemed to go against the spirit of the game

Rather amazingly if theyd scored that and converted it...we could have actually won by a point?
Shocked

Scots overall deserved the win they dominated the first hour ....they smashed us..few nice displays from us late on with the mighty faletau and morgan...lake llewellyn roberts had a few nice moments

no idea what to expect next week

Positives, Jack Morgan, Faletau what player, Blair Murray, Jarrod Evans. Centres ok. Set piece good. Must have a different scrum half starting, Rhodri's service is quicker.
Shame Faletau's try was disallowed, oldest player goes the length of the field!!

We were pathetic in the first half started when the slug Tomos Williams had his box kicked charged down and they scored 14 phases later without us touching the ball.

She asks why i still can't answer. I guess its in the blood.

Horribly disjointed in the first half. Much better in the second and again a lot of heart shown. Anscombe is done at this level and I'm not convinced by Ben Thomas. Mee struggles with the high ball (he gives away so much height) but remains our most potent attacking threat. Tomos lacks any sort of spark atm. WGJ reverted to his Scarlets' form. Lake adds a lot of power when he comes on. I'd rather see Jac at 7 and start with Wainwright and also start with Teddy Williams. The very, very slow journey to self-respect has just about started. Hoping we can win a game on the Japan tour.

Thought Roberts last intervention showed he still has decent gas and his rugby brain is as good as ever.

Really disappointed with the first 50 minutes of that match.

Negatives

Ansombe and Rowlands are finished for me.
Tomos is simply not the player to start at 9, his service is far too slow.
Ben Thomas is better at 12 but I still don’t get this fuss about him.
Refell doesn’t have the power that we need, Wainwright should be starting 6.
Not a negative but hopefully Rogers injury isn’t serious but I suspect he may have broken his hand/wrist.
Our back 3 are not the biggest and they are targeted with high balls, they need to work on it.

Positives

Daf Jenkins does a lot of unseen hard work that you expect for a number 4.
Faletau was class today.
Murray is some attacking threat.
Lake added much needed power
Teddy Williams played really well when he came on, he seems to have bulked up a bit and scored a really good try.

Gutted to lose again but we won’t be in this dark hole forever and we need to expose the likes of Page in the summer to test match rugby.

Probably but Shane made a living out of it, then you had Daly a few years back scoring against France was it doing the same thing...it's not a consistent thing by any means.

Also I thought tmo could only intervene on foul play.

Going back several phases to award a knock to s ountl 5m out seems to be beyond remit??

Jumping over a player requires a great deal of athleticism and to make a law against it because it might result in an injury to the attempted tackler seems ridiculous, in a sport where so many other legal acts can seriously injure a player. Quite a few players do leave the pitch bleeding or on crutches and we will only ruin the game if we ban tackling, clearing out or even kicking just because a player might get hurt by the action.

Forshaw’s union defensive strategy goes back to when he coached in the Premiership. Scotland stretched us as they did England when they moved the ball away from where we were expecting to defend so I think we will cope better next weekend when players will have been coached to handle something he is more familiar with.
