Well,  I think you may have missed John Davies at 3 (tight-head prop). His Wikipedia entry is confusing and contradictory, though - in one place he's listed as having been born in Carmarthen, and in another it's Cardigan! Did mam go to give birth at Glangwili? Perhaps someone on here knows the true answer!

Tells us where he is now, but not where he was born.

I was baffled by the contradictions in Wikipedia, TBH.

I'd have Josh Turnbull on the bench....born in H'West but he's a pucker Emlyn boy.

I can remember him turning up at the club as a scrawny 13 year old, never played rugby...we put him at full back...might have got that one wrong.

Gareth Davies in the hunt for the 9 shirt maybe...

What a marvellous thread and what a fantastic team...
I wont pretend to know how great players were from the distant past, though I heard endless tales of the great albert jenkins so he may be worth a nod.

If we are selecting based on how well they played for llanelli then I would go with johnny griff at 9, he was a fantastic scrum half for us taking us to 3 cup finals , match winning try in 85, then the season of 88 he was my best player in the best scarlets team I ever saw. He also came back in the 90s too. Mark douglas before him too a class player not sure where he was from.

Id be tempted to put jiffy in at 15 can we really afford to do without his genius?

Props hookers, iestyn thomas, ricky evans dai fox mucbryde ,lamerton and co Not sure where they were all from mind. Back row Id have to throw in a few other names, emyr tarw lewis, perego, lyn jones etc Phil may deserves a mention too, proper ledge over 500 games Clap

Yes a number of names were not Carms boys as you stated. Gary Pearce was Llansteffan way I think.

I forgot Josh Adams of course.

Love t have included the great Gareth Edwards, but just misses. Unlucky for him. Gwaun-cau-gerwen literally rests up against Carms.

I think we have the greatest rugby county in Wales and one of the best in the world. Truly.
