   Lying here in my hospital bed, I was thinking of the Scotland v Wales game on the weekend and in particular Faletau's try that wasn't given. I understood the explanation "that you can't jump up to avoid a tackle". But most players want to avoid tackles, unless you're playing a crash ball style of game, so you either beat the player or off load before you're tackled.But I was thinking of other scenarios where 
1. A la Shane Williams you duck under the players arm thus avoiding a tackle and score.
2. A player picks up a ball at the base of a ruck and dives over the ruck (hopefully avoiding a tackle) and place the ball past the try to score. Thus avoiding other players standing on the goal line waiting to tackle you to try and stop you scoring.
3. Players on a wet pitch sliding in (without ball touching ground) a metre or two out and place the ball down once over the line, thus making it very hard to be tackled.
Just a thought (I've got a lot of spare time on my hands)
