Collier Keywood issues 48hr notice  to Scarlets Ospreys and Dragons  sign PRA with Cardiff given approx £2m more funding of other Regions, or Cardiff under new PRA and rest no additional funding and taking  equity for Covid loan off the table

So much to and end to Master Servant

As long as Cardiff ok it’s not a problem, pathetic  people running a corrupt and mismanaged organisation.
Why should three sign something that puts them at a disadvantage to Cardiff bonkers mad let’s call their bluff I say.

So am I understanding this correctly.

Cardiff go bust, so the WRU decide to: a) bail them out and then ask the other three regions benefactors for more money b) spend more money on Cardiff than the others, c) create a situation where Cardiff are bidding for (and therefore increasing the wages of) players from the other three regions and d) initiate some very ropey governance in which the Chair of the PRB owns one of the entities which form it.

I have no issues with keeping Cardiff afloat but it should be with the necessary cost cutting initiated so the other three who have received millions from benefactors over the years don't face a reduction in their funding.

The WRU don't seem to understand the basics of moral hazard, in the context of Cardiff. A 'wont fail' attitude to their existence will not attract the quality of benefactors which they ultimately want to take it from their hands. A benefactor could quite easily do another Helford Capital with absolutely no consequence for them or they entity they invest in.

They’d save any region in the same predicament.

As long as they started with "C" ended in "iff" and had "ard" in the middle. One one regions would have been supported this way

Scarlets?
Nope, not even a 1% chance.
Clearly stated that it was unconscionable not to have a team in the capital city. No other reasoning offered.

They were asked whether they'd do the same for the other teams.

And their answer was they'd treat each case on it's own merits.

The fawning over the capital was completely OTT.

On the face of it, this seems pretty disgraceful from the WRU.
