I raised that very point & was told that as it stands, right now the Dragons are in a good place.

Not saying our survival is a given.... Just curious.

Population size is the main one.
What appears to have happened is that the O's now have a direct public service backer & partner. They seem to have lured Y11 into continuing to invest by offering ongoing public money and investment ( Bit like the Welsh Gov use to do to attract & retain overseas businesses to relocate to Wales).
Would Carmarthenshire Council enter into a business partnership with Scarlet's I wonder?

You’d assume they are already given the stadium.

SCC are just more visible with Rob Stewart always putting himself front and centre.

As far as continue investment from Y11, this could easily be read as Y11 investing what SCC have had to pay to relocate the cricket and whites. Nothing is concrete with them still and the language is purposely designed to look optimistic without any long term guarantee.

Can you say what was asked as a whole and what was said?

I'll be honest a lot of it was "What else can we do?" They bemoaned the state of the WRUs finances when they arrived & said that it is now likely to go to tender. They didn't like it when someone said (when they said the Dragons were in a great position financially) "Yes because they were bailed out by the WRU previously."

Where does it say anywhere that Y11 are investing in the Ospreys?

Rob Davies is the only Ospreys rep on that press statement. While he may have an interest in Y11, the obvious conclusion is that he's acting by himself. It's a risk to us if he can get together a consortium to bid on a tender but I don't think he's got the funding to do that himself.

If his investment in St Helens is restricted to a stand (which they already have from Worcester), TV facilities (basically some WiFi, power and telecoms connections) and a fan zone (a temp marquee type structure, or maybe even just some food/drink stalls) it really won't be much in terms of funding.

Luckily we don't need Stradeyboyo, because I put on my ghilly suit and hid behind a plant pot in the boardroom, and I heard everything.   Here's the main points:

Instead of giving Scarlets the £8m payout awarded by the court case, the WRU are giving us Ospreys.  We have to take on their debts and players but we do get to have a badge that shows a dragon shagging an osprey as of the 27/28 season.

Home games will be played at Parc Y Scarlets, away games to be played at St Helens, but judgement day games will now be hosted on a potato field near Felinwint.  And we're going to move the East stand from the Parc to St Helens so they have some seats.

To sweeten the deal, Nanny Goggins in Fishgard has agreed to falsify documents 'proving' Ardie Savea and Antoine Dupont are her grandkids and therefore eligible for Wales, and sign them for us this summer.

This all depends on PRA32 being signed before 2035 though, so it might not happen.

Feels like the wind has dropped form our sails from where we could have been, and Ospreys are taking the headlines these days.

The emptiest vessels make the loudest noise - all I see is desperation from the Swansea lot to not be berated the rest of their lives by the locals, and when the smoke clears and its Scarlets, Dragons and the WRUin Superblues left standing they will all be able to say that they 'tried everything' to keep the Ospreys as one of the 3 regions, with press cuttings to prove it. and the blame will be successfully passed onto us and the WRU.

I dunno, I get the whole, no news is good news, keeping your powder dry, emptiest vessels etc. but we are DEFINITELY in a worse position that we were a few weeks ago.

I don't feel as confident about a tender as some on here.

Same here. End of Jan it was a slam dunk we were surviving. Now it’s a 50/50 shot.

Everything I have seen and heard on and off record since this debacle reared it's head leads me to totally agree with that statement!

There's also a lot opportunism going on from certain people who are nothing to do with rugby, have said sweet FA until the last 2 months but now see a chance for some publicity.
